New Two Slot Heads
Separate heads for Softwood and Hardwood gives you a more specific cutting angle.
Moldingknives.com has introduced a new series of Two Slot heads to fit the popular Woodmaster, Foley-Belsaw and RBI machines (in conjunction with the 1-1/2" keyed shafts). These Two Slot Heads are available with either 12 degrees or 20 degrees cutting angles - each head has two slots at either 12 degrees or 20 degrees. These heads are designed to achieve the maximum cutting advantage when your wood is in the 6% to 8% moisture content range.
In the North American market most manufactures and dealers of larger production machines will offer a 12 degree head for all domestic hardwoods, and a 20 degree head for all domestic softwoods as well as for Medium Density Fiberboard. The lumping into these two categories allows for a clean cut and keeps things as uncomplicated as possible (so you don't have to have a head for each separate species).
The same knives can be used in either head as the knife cutting angles remain the same - it is actually the slot in the head that is set at either 12 degrees or 20 degrees.
